When young Rana moves to London from a small village in Bangladesh, she has to get used to a new life. With no other way to communicate than with her colouring pencils, Rana takes to drawing to express herself. She finds her voice through her art – and a whole new world. This is the story of how Rana Begum became an artist, captivating the world with her fascinating play of colour, light and form.

Rana Begum, a London-based artist originally from Bangladesh, creates art that blends sculpture, painting, and architecture. She draws inspiration from Islamic art, geometric patterns, and city life. With a background in Fine Art and an MFA in Painting, Begum's work is a mix of experimentation and precision. Her folded metal pieces, which start as delicate paper studies, give a sense of both strength and lightness. Her art plays with shapes, light, and colors, offering viewers a unique and sensory experience.
